Your MFL Card and Account
Check out DVD movies, Computer games, Video games, music CDs, magazines, graphic novels, BOOKS and more! You can also borrow museum passes, download eBooks, and access educational and informational databases, including Auto Repair Guides, Homework Help, Health Information, Language Learning, Genealogy and so much more!
If Marlboro doesn’t have the item you need, you can order it from one of the 66 libraries in the Mid- Hudson Library System!
How do I get a Library Card?
If you’re over 18 and would like a library card, simply stop by our circulation desk with proof of Marlboro School District Residency (such as a drivers license or utility bill), and fill out a registration card. You will have your library card on-the-spot and you may use it to check-out materials the same day.
For residents under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must be present to sign the registration card.
If you’re not a Marlboro School District resident but would like a library card, you may purchase a non-resident card for a $50.00 annual fee (per family).
Using Your Card
If you don’t find what you are looking for on the shelves in the library, you can use the Request-A-Title function within the catalog, where you can place a hold on the item(s) you select. This is called a ‘System Hold’ and can be used for books, DVD’s, music, videogames and more. The items will then be sent directly to the Marlboro Library – or any other library in the Mid-Hudson system that you choose for pick up.
Checking Out Items
When you are ready to check out at the Circulation Desk with your items, you MUST have your Library card with you. Staff is not permitted to check out items without a Library card in good standing. Staff is not permitted to ‘look up’ someone’s account for the purposes of borrowing materials. You can also use your card to access many of the Library’s educational sources and informational databases. See all the possibilities by checking out the tab
By logging into your account, you may also renew your items. Simply check the boxes of the items you want to renew while in your account screen, and click ‘renew’. All items that are able to be renewed (those that do not have ‘holds’ placed on them, for example) will be renewed and the new due date will be shown. Call us at 236-7272 if you require assistance.
Placing Items on Hold
Who needs expensive video services when you can use our ‘Hold’ system!? Everyone with a Marlboro Library card should be taking advantage of this convenient service!
Not only is the hold system great for getting on the wait list for new items, but it is also used for obtaining items from other libraries. See a book or movie that we don’t have here? Simply use the same ‘Request-a-Title’ button and the item will be delivered to the Marlboro Library within a few days.
Getting a PIN
Don’t have a PIN? If you are logging into your account for the first time and you do not have a PIN, you must: enter your barcode, then click on “Submit” You will be prompted to submit a new PIN, then retype it for verification. Then type in your barcode and click on “Submit”.
Forgot your PIN? If you ever forget your PIN, you can click on the ” Did you forget your PIN? ” and, if you have an email address in your library account record, an email will be sent to you with the option to reset your PIN. If you do not have a valid email address currently in your library account information, you will need to visit the library to have your PIN reset. Be sure to bring identification with proof of address. Staff will delete your PIN and then you can set a new one the next time you access the online catalog in the same way you did originally. Be prepared to show identification on your visit if you need to have changes made to your library account. Or, check out the PIN set-up tutorials for more details.
