at the Marlborough Community Center
Join us for a fun, low-stakes 1,000-piece puzzle competition! This event welcomes puzzlers of all experience levels. Teams will race to complete an identical 1,000-piece puzzle in a relaxed atmosphere. No pressure, just good company, a great challenge, the joy of puzzling together and prizes for the first 3 teams to finish!
Open to ages 18+ with teams of 2-6 players.
Registration required. Each team must designate a team captain to register all members (6 people max per team).

The puzzle competition rules:
Objective:
- Each team must complete a 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle within 3 hours.
- The team that completes the puzzle first or has the most pieces correctly placed at the end of the 3 hours wins.
Team Composition:
- Teams can have 2-6 members, ages 18+.
Setup:
Each team receives:
- 1 identical 1000-piece puzzle
- 1 flat table as workspace
- 1-2 sorting trays of maximum size of 16.5” x 11.7 are permitted, but NOT PROVIDED.
- Puzzles are unopened until the start signal.
Time Limit:
- Total duration: 3 hours
- Start signal: teams may begin.
- End signal: all teams must stop working immediately.
Puzzle Rules:
- Teams cannot remove pieces from other teams’ tables.
- Teams may rearrange or rotate pieces freely within their own table.
- Teams may not use adhesives or tools beyond their hands (no glue, tape, or scissors).
- No outside help (friends, phones, or online guides) allowed.
- If a team finishes early, they must raise their hand and wait for verification.
- Misplaced pieces identified during verification must be corrected to claim completion.
- If no team competes the puzzle in the 3 hour time frame:
- Count correctly placed pieces.
- The team with the highest count wins.
