On Saturday, January 22, the Marlboro Library will hold two genealogy sessions, Getting Started with Genealogy, and Researching Your Family History.

GETTING STARTED WITH GENEALOGY PRESENTATION

At 11:00 a.m., Getting Started with Genealogy attendees will learn how to map out a family tree as well as tips and tricks for searching free websites and online databases. The presentation will also briefly touch on DNA testing and the Marlboro Library’s local history collection.

Registration for the presentation is required, click here to register.

RESEARCH YOUR FAMILY TREE WORKSHOP

At 12:00 p.m., Researching Your Family History workshop attendees will apply their research skills to make new discoveries! Attendees will search through genealogical databases and websites, while Library staff assist with any questions or problems. Bring your library card and family history as far back as you know (even if it’s just your grandparents), and we will help expand your search! Registration is required to attend and/or reserve a Library laptop.

Click here to register, and indicate if you are bringing your own laptop, or would like to reserve one.

Please register for each session you would like to attend. Those interested can sign up for both sessions or just one, although it is recommended that beginners attend both sessions. Please register for each session individually.
