INTRO TO RESEARCHING YOUR FAMILY HISTORY PRESENTATION & WORKSHOP
Saturday, February 11, 11:00 am & 12:00 pm
On Saturday, February 11, the Marlboro Library will hold two genealogy classes, Getting Started with Genealogy and a hands-on workshop.
Getting Started with Genealogy Presentation
At 11:00 a.m., Getting Started with Genealogy attendees will learn how to map out a family tree, methods to record your findings, review the basics of using AncestryLibrary.com, and hear about other available free websites. This presentation will also touch briefly on popular DNA testing kits. Walk-ins welcome.
Genealogy Research Workshop
At 12:00 p.m., workshop attendees will apply these newfound research skills to make new discoveries! Search through genealogical databases and websites while Library staff assist with questions or problems. Bring your Library card and family history as far back as you know (even if it’s just your grandparents), and we will help expand your search!
Please note: Participants can attend just one or both programs. Registration is required if you would like to reserve one of the Library’s laptops, as a limited amount are available.
In case of inclement weather, this program will be rescheduled.
