The World Famous Mount Beacon Incline Railway
Thursday, April 11 at 7:00pm
Starting from its grand opening in 1902, the Mount Beacon Incline Railway brought passengers to the top of Mount Beacon, and was billed as the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” at its height of popularity during the early 20th century. The railway ferried passengers to the Beaconcrest Hotel, as well as to homes, businesses and the mountain’s popular casino atop of Mount Beacon, until the 1970s.
Join us at the Library, as Beacon Historical Society President Denise VanBuren, presents on the history of Beacon’s incline railway.
